Coconut oil is considered a superfood! It’s an alternative to cooking as it has considerable health benefits. That’s not where I’m going with my share. I’ve learned more about the benefits of using coconut oil to enhance our natural beauty through my research.
Several months ago, my veterinarian’s assistant asked me why I didn’t have wrinkles. And she referenced “beautiful skin.” My response was probably genetic, and I never use soap on my face. Now in my senior years, I thought about that question. As a result of researching (and it’s all available on the Internet), the more I learned, the more excited I became about sharing these finds with you.
For many years, I’ve used coconut oil on my face and neck as a moisturizer and skin conditioner. I don’t remember where I learned of this. It’s great. And I’m not spending much money on products manufactured to do just that. (And, if you check out what’s in your beauty products, the chances are that it includes this oil!)
Think of this: one jar instead of multiple bottles and jars. That’s how many?
As a result of my research, coconut oil may also contribute to my beautiful skin condition.
Natural Beauty Comes from Coconut Oil Economically
How much are you spending on facial products? Most grocers shelve coconut oil at a reasonable price. After all, it’s an alternative oil for food preparation. It’s readily available.
As I researched, it’s apparent that coconut oil is magical and inexpensive. Yes, it’s a cost-effective way to care for your body. It’s the do-everything oil on my bathroom counter. Users will reap coconut oil’s benefits from the outside in. And it also smells fabulous!
Also, I learned that coconut oil penetrates your skin on a deeper level than the average commercial product because of its low molecular weight and the way it bonds with proteins. Yes!!! No wonder the dryness that I experienced just vanished!
What is Coconut oil?
Coconut oil, sometimes called copra oil, is an edible oil extracted from the meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm.
The composition:
- fatty acids that includes caprylic acid C -8:0 (8%), capric acid, C-10:0,(7%), and lauric acid C-12:0, (49%). These possess disinfectant and antimicrobial properties. That equates to the fact that these fatty acids help protect against and aid in healing microbial infections. Therefore, it can help fight infections that cause cold sores and diaper rash.
Other properties include:
- myristic acid C-14:0(8%),
- palmitic acid C-16:0 (8%),
- stearic acid C-18:0 (2%),
- oleic acid C-18:1 (6%),
- and 2% of C-18:2 linoleic acid.
Natural Beauty Comes from Coconut Oil that Hydrates your Skin
Its saturated fats contribute to your skin’s staying moisturized. The fat prevents moisture loss through one’s pores. The result is that one’s skin has a healthy, smooth, and even tone.
One Jar is your DO-EVERYTHING – Other Functions!
- Scrubs exfoliate the skin removing all those dead skin cells. Coconut oil is the perfect fit for a scrub due to its moisturizing properties.
Although there are many home recipes, this one is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3. And among my favorites.
Ingredients
ONE: 1/2 cup of coconut oil
TWO: 1 cup white sugar
THREE: 10 drops of vanilla essential oil
Place Coconut Oil in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave until completely melted – about 45 seconds. Stir in sugar and Essential Oil. Mix well. Transfer it to a jar, and it’s a go!
- Body Oil conditions your skin’s dry areas – your face, hands, feet, elbows, knees, etc. Coconut oil is the perfect solution!
- Cold Sore Treatment with coconut oil speeds up healing time because of its disinfectant and antimicrobial properties.
- Cuticle Oil loosens up your cuticles to make it easier for you to push back or cut. Coconut oil works. And aids in preventing infection due to its disinfectant and antimicrobial properties.
- Detox Baths are a fabulous way to eliminate toxins. A simple home recipe allows your body – and mind – to unwind while you detox! Add equal parts (suggest 1/4 cup) of coconut oil and Epsom salts to your bath. Consider adding your favorite Essential oil!
- Dry Hands are often problematic issues. Rub in coconut oil and then cover with gloves for quick results. Bedtime works well.
- Face Wash with coconut oil will change your daily routine because it will be your preference. Here again, it’s perfect because of its antimicrobial properties and natural moisturizer. Yes, it kills bacteria while hydrating your skin.
You are into Pure and Natural. What about the Water from your Faucet?
Do you know what comes from your faucet? How many of us check? I’ve discovered a water machine with an inexpensive filter that can last years! And there are no plastic materials. The filter removes everything from all water sources (except for saltwater because the molecules are too large for the filter). Read my testimonial and learn about the incredible machine HERE.
