At the age of seven, I relished the days when dad woke me up at 3:30 AM to go fishing on Lake Chautauqua, N.Y., along the waters of Celeron Park. It was our time. I still close my eyes and watch the sunrise to my right as I stand along the rail and fish (for perch and sunfish, then). My dad moved me to the next level of bass fishing as I learned basic techniques. Finally, I was fishing for bass in a boat. I kept fishing with my dad, a secret from my classmates, until I was grown. Besides, I co-owned a fly-fishing club and explored the state’s fishing grounds. However, my fondest memories are those of my bass fishing days.
