Fight Gum Disease by Reducing Plaque

Gingivitis results in redness, swelling, and bleeding of your gums.

What is the cause of gingivitis? It is the build-up of dental plaque due to harmful bacteria.

What is the solution? Coconut oil decreases plaque build-up and fights gum disease. Brushing with homemade coconut oil toothpaste is your solution. Why? Because it reduces plaque build-up by attacking harmful bacteria.

Coconut Oil Promotes Dental Heath by Preventing Tooth Decay and Loss

Coconut oil strikes Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus.

These are the two groups of bacteria primarily responsible for tooth decay. Compare this to commercial mouthwashes. The active ingredient is chlorhexidine in most. Research indicates coconut oil reduces bacteria as effectively as those mouthwashes with chlorhexidine. The result is that coconut oil promotes dental health by preventing tooth decay and loss.

Dental Health – Use Coconut Oil for Oil Pulling

What is oil pulling? It’s a simple process of swishing oil in your mouth for several minutes – usually 20. Like you would use a mouthwash – but more prolonged. Then spit it out in the toilet or elsewhere. I’ve read that it can plug up the pipe in your sink. Follow the process by brushing your teeth. Check out the article on Web MD Here.
